Cut-N-Shoot H.O.G. - Welcome

Shooter Safety

Group Riding Course/New Member Orientation Ride - January 9, 2005 Welcome to the Safety Section of the Cut N Shoot Texas Chapter!  We are all about "Riding Safe and Having Fun", and safety has been and continues to be an important part of group riding for the chapter.  Whether you ride alone, with friends, or in a group of fellow chapter members, safe riding is something that you should practice every time.  At the Cut N Shoot Texas Chapter, we can help by providing information on safe riding tips and rider education, and we conduct group riding classes under the direction of our Safety Officer, Chief Road Captain, and qualified Road Captains to help you get the most out of your chapter rides.

End of Month Ride to Mama Jack's in Kountze, TX - May, 2007

Some things we have available for Chapter Members:

Rider's Edge® - The Harley-Davidson Rider's Edge® rider education courses are offered at Texan Harley-Davidson for both beginning and experienced riders.

Group Riding Course - The Cut N Shoot Texas Chapter offers a group riding course monthly, held the Sunday morning after every chapter meeting.  The course covers risk factors, riding formations, staging procedures, group riding policies, and emergency procedures.  This orientation is a requirement for new members to obtain the permanent membership card and Chapter patches, but all members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Check the CNS Calendar for times and locations.  Harley-Davidson offers resources for self-study in group riding as well.

Qualified Road Captains - Our Road Captains undergo training and must possess the right qualifications in terms of riding experience and safety instruction before they are able to lead groups, and must attend regular training classes to maintain that certification.  For information on joining the ranks our Road Captains, contact our Chief Road Captain via email at roadcaptain@cutnshoothog.org.

A Safety Attitude - A habit of safe riding begins with each and every rider, and we try to instill and reinforce an attitude of safety in all of our rides.  From the Director through the officers to all the members, riding safely means that we can all have more fun, and that's what it is really about, riding and having fun.

Safety Questions? - If you have a motorcycle safety question or comment, you may send it via email to our Safety Officer at safety@cutnshoothog.org.
